My name is Jason Nelson, tech-guru, freelance designer, rock climber, husband and father. I have been doing web design work for 8 years but have been a computer geek since childhood.
I am the founder of Visual Adventures, a small highly creative design firm located in beautiful southwest Colorado.
I offer web design, printable design, Flash, photography and hosting. I create cutting edge websites that are functional, quick to load, creative and beautiful. During the design and development process I utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics as well as tricks to make the site as easy to update as possible. I like the Transcending CSS approach to website design. This means that you can design using some of the latest tricks and techniques for newer internet browsers, yet have graceful alternatives for older browsers. The code is designed so that site content is important and meaningful even without all of the pretty pictures.
On this site I've also included some personal trips and adventures, as they are not only a big part of my life but also a reflection of my work.
So grab a cup of coffee and let the adventure begin.

There are two special effects on this page created with Flash. The first is the rain effect. The rain effect consists of two animations of a raindrop falling and splashing on the ground, or creating ripples in the water. A script then duplicates the raindrops and makes them falls at random intervals and locations. The other special effect is the floating ice cube. The ice cube was created in Photoshop, and then set to do a simple floating animation. When you rollover the right of the image, the ice cube will spin aroun. If you rollover the left side, it will dip into the water. Also, if you look closely, the eyes will blink. I added these effects to give the page a little bit of a dynamic aspect.
