El Capitan, Height 3,300 ft.El Capitan was a special goal for Lisa and I. I had climbed it two years ago and wanted to see if I could do it again. For Lisa, this was to be her first time. El Capitan may not be the biggest rock in the world, but it is the wall that all big walls are compared to. It's one of the most famous rocks in the world as well. About a mile wide and half a mile tall, it's presence is astounding.
The guidebook recommends spending 4 days climbing Zodiac. We topped out on the third night spending two nights on the wall, and one on the summit. The climb was dramatic, overhanging the whole way. Our friends, Alex and Tomas Huber completed the route in 1 hr. 51 minutes. Notice how little gear they took on the wall. They didn't even bring a shirt!
